This is not an appeal. Rather it's a fresh petition against the amendments issued on 22nd November. AIDCF wants the MRP cap of 12 rupees to be back. They also want genre based cap and a maximum cap on the price of any channel regardless of whether or not the channel is part of a bouquet. They basically want the order that was upheld by the Mumbai HC along with some new changes that suits their liking. They are expecting a stay on the order in it's current state. Note that if the Kerala HC stays the order, it can't come into effect from Feb 1st. DTH operators can implement the order, only if there's no stay.

Channels that charge high ad price must have lower subscription rate.

Expected that IBF will implead for obvious reasons. They want this regulation to go ahead, as it's more beneficial for them. From a consumer perspective, the regulation makes the bouquets costlier and with no reduction in MRP ceiling, the monthly bills are bound to go up. I would side with AIDCF to get these toothless changes postponed.
