MUMBAI: Odisha is among the top 5 fastest growing TV markets in India aided by rising prosperity levels and availability of electricity, the Broadcasters Audience Research Council (BARC) India CEO Partho Dasgupta said during the ‘Make in Odisha’ Conclave in Bhubaneswar.
The TV penetration has grown 15% in Odisha between 2016-2018. It is the third fastest growing TV market after Bihar/Jharkhand (25%) and North East/Sikkim (23%). At 79%, the TV viewership in Odisha has grown faster than the national average of 66% between 2015-18.
In Hindi Speaking Market (HSM), Odia is the third biggest market after Bengali and Marathi.

Now by this statement by BARC i think more broadcasters will think to launch their channels soon in Odisha
