Every few months, TV channels undergo an overhaul. In the next month, we will see as many as four new serials, including some reality shows.

While some have established actors making a comeback, others come armed with new concepts.

New Shows
Kehta Hai Dil Jee Le Zara

The show marks the return of actor Sangeeta Ghosh in a story of a woman who supports her family and runs a strawberry farm. A younger guy Ruslaan Mumtaz steps into her life and they end up falling in love.
From: Mid-August at 9.30 pm, Sony TV

Do Dil Bandhe Ek Dori Se
After his gangster role in Pratigya, Arhaan Behl returns as Raghu, the dutiful aide of a rich man (Alok Nath) as well as a bodyguard to his granddaughter, Shivani. Ultimately, as per the title, Shivani and Raghu will end up married.
From: August 12 at 8 pm, Zee TV

Master Chef Junior
Chefs Vikas Khanna, Kunal Kapoor and Surjan Singh Jolly come together for the Indian version of MasterChef Junior. After the success of MasterChef Kitchen Ke Superstars, it would be interesting to see what the kids can come up with.
From: August 17, Star Plus

Gustakh Dil
Starring Sana Sheikh, Meghana Mallik, Vibhav Roy and Parvati Sehgal, this new show looks promising. The story is about a smart village girl, Laajo, who ends up married to city boy, Nikhil, who in turn loves another girl, Ishaana. Meghana plays Nikhil’s mother.
From: August 5 at 7.30 pm, Life Ok

Other upcoming shows
With Big Boss season 7 airing on Colors in September, Sanskaar and Na Bole Tum Na Maine Kuch Kaha (airing at 9 pm and 9.30 pm respectively) may get the axe.

Producer Sidharth Tewary’s amibitious Mahabharata is tentatively scheduled to air on September 2 on Star Plus. An official announcement is expected soon. In all likelihood, Ek Hazaroon Mein Meri Behna Hai (airing at 8.30 pm) will make way for the third version of the epic saga.

In September, Sony’s Indian Idol Junior will end and Kaun Banega Crorepati Season 6 will take its place.

Old shows taking a bow
Parvarrish

Shweta Tiwari, Rupali Ganguly, Vivek Mushran and Vishal Singh played parents to teenagers to the hilt. Parvarrish has had a decent run since its launch in November 2011. It touched upon pertinent issues regarding adoloscents and modern-day parenting, which appealed to family audiences.
Ends: Mid-August

Hitler Didi
Rati Pandey fit in the role of Hitler Didi aka the strict and tough Indira Sharma who looks after her family and gradually becomes an emotionless woman, bent on duty. Her tenant, Sumit Vats, brought love and laughter into her life. Set in Delhi, the show had a good run for over a year and a half.
Ends: August 2

India’s Dancing Superstars
Riteish Deshmukh took on the mantle of judging this dance reality show along with choreographers Geeta Kapur and Ashley Lobo. It was different from other dance shows as it had no age barrier for contestants and they could participate solo, as couples or in groups.
Ends: August 3

Amrit Manthan
After a good run of one-and-a-half years, the show that started with jealousy between two sisters — Amrit and Nimrit — saw many dramatic tracks, including the clichéd plots of memory loss and lookalikes. Adaa Khan worked well in the role of the antagonist, yet she was the ‘heroine’ of the show.
Ends: August 2
