Even DD Sports telecasting cricket better than Star Sport SD channels.

Ads also Entertaining and less.

It doesn't matter to them. They get to make 75% revenue without buying the rights.

Star Sport can compensate the revenue by selling fewer ads at higher rates, anyway the public gets bored of seeing the same ad 100 times in a day.

Yep, that's how it feels. As soon as a wicket falls. They switch to a long commercial. No celebration, no replays. Replay only comes in between next running over. In most overs we only get 5 and a half ball as the bowler is running.

There is no ad-free expectation based on subscription price we pay which cost as low as a packet of chips. But that doesn't mean there is no way to trim off little bit of ads for an ideal experience. Things like these discourages users from watching a sport. There are ways like to hike the price of ad slots or introduce picture-in-picture ads which F1 Broadcast on Star Sports Select also needs.

Hopefully, in NTO 2.0 Star Sports channels are properly priced so viewers don't have to compromise there viewing experience.

I don't understand why people say we have to pay 1500/2000 per month for ad free viewing. In countries like UK/Aus they pay that because of less population and high income. Both have income level 20 times more than us. Aus population is 1/2 cr which is 1/100th of us. Also Hotstar alone gets 2 cr viewers on many match. India is a mass market where you can offer great service cheaper like in China. We don't need to pay that 1500 rupees a month for ad free experience. It's all fault of overpriced bidding by big 2.

DD sports is better. I planning to buy STB for dd sports with intelsat free tamil channels. Not sure we can do both intelsat tamil channels and DD sports alignment in single dish with two lnb.

The only disadvantage is that the QR code at the bottom used to hide the DD Free Dish logo is ugly. Most likely it’s being done by the illegal app. Otherwise DD Sports 1.0’s transmission is simply the best. If only they had an HD feed (though it had one for the Tokyo Olympics, that was discontinued).
