Pulimurugan Effect: 8 Big Budget Malayalam Movies In The Pipeline...!

Big Budget movies were not that common in Malayalam film industry, till a few years back. But, now, the industry has expanded and the reach of Malayalam films have increased.
The recently released Pulimurugan has further underlined the fact that big budget movies would definitely work in Mollywood. The humongous success of the film has instilled the much required confidence in the minds of film-makers and producers.

Here, we list some of the upcoming big budget Malayalam movies, which are in different stages of production.

Karnan
Well, Prithviraj's Karnan is the biggest among them all. Recently, there came reports that the budget of the movie would touch the 300-Crore mark. The film, which would be directed by R S Vimal is in its pre-production stages. Actors from various other language film industries are expected to join the film.

Chengazhi Nambiyar
Chengazhi Nambiyar is an upcoming period drama, which is based on Mamankam, a grand festival which used to be held in the 16th century. Sidhil Subramanian would direct this movie, which would made with a budget of 100 Crores. Tovino Thomas would play an important role in the film. Nothing much has been revealed about the rest of the cast & crew members of the movie.

Veeram
Jayaraj's Veeram is all set to hit the big screens. The multi-lingual film, has been made with a budget of 35 Crores, making it the most expensive Malayalam movie of all time. The teaser of the film was released recently and it has impressed one and all with the technical perfection that the film holds.

Mammootty's Karnan
Here is another film based on the life of Karnan, that too from a different angle. This time it would be actor Mammootty, who would be playing Karnan. Madhupal would call the shots for the script written by P Sukumar. We don't know whether the film is still on the cards or not, but if it happens, then it would definitely be huge.

Kunchirakkottu Kaali
Prithviraj had announced this project back in the year 2015. This again is a period drama, which would narrate a story set in the Venad regions of Kerala. Nothing much has been revealed about the crew members or cast of the film. But, if the project happens, this would be yet another big budget movie.

Tiyaan
Upcoming film Tiyaan, is high on expectations. The film, which has Prithviraj and Indrajith in the lead roles, has been scripted by Murali Gopy. Reportedly, Tiyaan, directed by Jiyen Krishnakumar, has been made with a budget of an excess of 15 Crores.

Lucifer
Well, we definitely can't say anything about Lucifer at this time, since the movie is in its initial stages. But, by all means the movie would be huge considering the big names that the film has.

Kayamkulam Kochunni
Here is another mega project, which is in the pipeline. Nivin Pauly is all set to play Kayamkulam Kochunni, in an upcoming film, which would be directed by Rosshan Andrrews under the script written by Bobby-Sanjay duo. The makers had revealed that the movie would be made with a huge budget.

Mohanlal's Pulimurugan was made under a budget of 26 Crores and the film upon its release, has soared to newer heights at the box office. The movie is all set to become the first Malayalam film to touch the 100 Crore mark.

As of now, Mammootty's Kerala Varma Pazhassi Raja, is the most expensive Malayalm movies of all time. The film was made with a budget of 27 Crores. Eventhough the film had a magnificent run at the box office, it didn't end up as a profitable venture.

Jayaraj's Veeram, which is all set to release soon, would overtake Pazhassiraja, since the former has been made with a budget of 35 Crores.

Well, we hope that all the above bug budget movies would have a fantastic run at the box office.
