Having a logo registered is not just for a new channel, even having a new or additional logo for a currently on air channel will require this. Also having a new slot on a particular channel will require a logo with channel identity most times and broadcaster registers trademark in all these cases so that no one else can misuse it or carry it without their consent.

The India TV logo mentioned above is already being showcased on the channel since last few months. In my opinion, B4U logos r also for programme bands on present channel, remember recently B4U surrendered licence for 2 new channels to MIB which means they are not considering expanding. Also as TRAI rules r being implemented and there will be some impact or confusion in initial months hence broadcasters will refrain from launching new offering atleast till May
