So in Tataplay also there will be reliance shares🤔🤔

If CCI approves merger this week, then it might complete by Diwali

According to some source, CCI has almost cleared in terms of Television asset. but is skeptical on digital asset.
Now that YouTube MD has joined viacom18 they will have better understanding to answer CCI queries.

I'd be very surprised if they are not forced to sell some TV channels to competitors.
They forced the sale of 3 channels in the Sony-Zee deal, this one is a much bigger transaction.

Sony zee had perfect combo and ratings . Sony subscription driven. Zee add driven . Thats not same with star and viacom who are both subscription driven.
Viacom already shutting down sports18 and some movie channel.

What r u saying buddy.... All networks r heavily dependent on ads and subscription revenue though has grown but still smaller than ad revenue... . Also each channel has a different ratio for the same but in India a subscription driven revenue model will not work as 1stly it would then require charging really high amount for a channel which people be it from mass or affluent segment are not ready to shell out for TV Channels and secondly as subscription revenue continues to grow so does the content coat or other expenditures due to inflation so ad revenue becomes extremely important to help recover investment and earn profits.

Now as far as Viacom18 and Disney- Star not being told to close channels, well still CCI can raise objections and it is not about number of channels broadcasters concerned have in various genres but how much market share these govern and is there a chance of monopoly happening interms of both power to acquire content and market share is what is evaluated so keeping this as major thing to look into i believe only in Sports and Kids genre u will see certain objections being raised rest i don't think there will be any problem.

While for Sony Zee there were objections raised for same reason in Hindi Movies genre and Hindi GEC as Sony Sab commands high market share and even Sony has strong market share in mega cities while incase of secondary channels too in this genre Zee-Sony combined had strong market share so objections were raised
