Ncf may vary in different states /language. I think Hindi, Tamil, Telugu subscribers need to pay more Ncf compared with Gujarati, Punjabi subscribers as available channels count more than other languages. 🤧
Different classes indicates people's purchasing power I think , ncf may low in backward areas! 🤷‍♂️
 
Very confusing model, let's see how it will work.

Looks like they will opt old DishTV model NCF structure. Like different NCF packs will available for South and North, and users have to choose one during checkout.

Ncf may vary in different states /language. I think Hindi, Tamil, Telugu subscribers need to pay more Ncf compared with Gujarati, Punjabi subscribers as available channels count more than other languages. 🤧

Gujarati and Punjabi comes under Hindi audience. There viewers mostly watch Hindi channels,‌ so it will be same NCF as Hindi.

Key Changes in the New Tariff Order

- Elimination of NCF Charges: The limit on NCF stands at ₹130 for up to 200 channels and above 200 channels at ₹160 have been removed.

- Flexible NCF Charges: Different NCF charges can now be set by DTH operators based on customer groups as well as regions.

- Higher Discounts: Operators shall now be allowed a maximum discount cap of 45% instead of the previous 15%. Thus, there will be better offers from market players.

- Removal of HD and SD Channel Differences: No distinction will exist between HD and SD Channels when it comes to carriage fees.

Tata Play is offering cheapest packages to Assam & West Bengal (North East India) which is far away from my state (Haryana).

Waiting for Tata Play to launch Tata Play Lollipop 🍭 Pack (for Bihar region) then I will take train in morning to Bihar , then purchase new Tata Play box in afternoon & will come back to Haryana in Evening. 😁

This is looking nice but let's see the actual reality that how it's gonna execute.
 
DTH now has full freedom keep the competitive price like before NTO. They should utilize it properly to avoid loosing customers.

if DTH operators increase prices, they are likely to lose customers in the urban market for several reasons:

1. High Competition from OTT Platforms

Urban consumers have easy access to streaming services like Netflix, Amazon Prime, Hotstar, and JioCinema, which offer on-demand content. A price hike in DTH services may push users toward cheaper OTT bundles.

2. Growth of Broadband & IPTV Services

With the expansion of fiber broadband (JioFiber, Airtel Xstream, BSNL Fiber, etc.), many urban customers prefer IPTV or internet-based streaming, which often includes live TV at a lower cost.

3. Changing Viewing Habits

Younger audiences prefer smart TVs, mobile streaming, and YouTube over traditional TV.

A price increase could accelerate the shift away from DTH services.


4. Cost-Sensitive Consumers

Middle-class households in cities may reconsider premium DTH packs if prices go too high.

They might downgrade to a lower pack or even switch to free-to-air channels.


5. Multi-TV Households Could Cut Extra Connections

Many urban homes have multiple DTH connections. If prices increase, they may remove extra set-top boxes and rely on streaming alternatives.

Conclusion

While rural areas still rely on DTH due to limited internet access, urban users are more likely to shift to OTT or IPTV if prices become unattractive. To retain urban customers, DTH providers must bundle OTT services, offer flexible plans, or provide additional value.
