Siti Cable Network (formerly known as Wire and Wireless India Ltd), as part of its commitment to timely implementation of cable TV digitisation in top metros across India, has executed a Digital Addressable System (DAS) interconnect agreement with about 55 per cent of its local cable operators (LCOs).

The LCOs are enthusiastic about this carriage revenue sharing arrangement. This interconnect arrangement will allow cable operators to provide encrypted TV channels signals to subscribers.

This development comes amid reports of the progress in execution of LCO interconnect agreement slowing down because MSOs are not pushing for agreement execution on the ground. Siti Cable is the only MSO to execute these many agreements. With less than a month to go for the first phase of digitisation of cable TV networks in metros, Siti Cable is actively engaging the LCOs for smooth migration to the digital regime.

The company has initiated a management system, called ‘Own Your Customer’, which is designed for LCOs to handle subscriber related transaction on their own, which includes activation, deactivation, upgradation, downgradation, billing, payment, account statement, packaging, complaints, and so on. The objective behind developing such subscriber management system is to empower the cable operator and help them provide better and prompt services to their subscribers on a digital platform.

As is known, the Government is continuously monitoring the progress report on digitisation of cable TV.
