Vijayawada : The ever increasing TV
channels are forcing the channels to
enter into competition amongst them
to entertain the audience. Almost all
the channels are looking for variety
of programs to retain and improve
their TRP ratings. Successful
programs in one channel are finding
replica in other channels with
different name and slight change in
theme.
The ever increasing popular & most
popular ETV show Paduta Tiyaga has
been one example that needs
mention in this particular instance.
The program originally launched
during 1990’s gained high popularity
and brought into light various new
generation singers like Mallikarjuna,
Hemachandra, Geeta Madhuri etc.
Based on huge success the program
attained, the ETV management
continued the program mentioning
the series 1 to 7 and presently the
8th series is being aired. The various
series have been dedicated to
different set of singers based on age.
The 7th series has even moved to US
where the program got good
response.
As a close competition to Padutha
Theeyaga, MAA TV also started
program under the name ‘Super
Singer’. This is also a show to
improve the singing performance of
upcoming and new singers. The show
also went for 7 series. For some of
the series Suma acted as the anchor
and some other series had Sagar
(brother of DSP the music director) as
the host.
Not to be left behind, Gemini TV also
started a program with the name ‘Bol
Baby Bol’ a program that is
exclusively designed for singing
professionals in general & children at
some specific instances.
The difference of Super Singer from
that of Padutha Theeyaga is that the
different series had different set of
judges whereas SPB has been the
standard judge and anchor for
Padutha Theeyaga.
ETV has been conducting Star Mahila
with Suma as anchor. This afternoon
program is dedicated exclusively for
ladies. The program has also received
huge success and also good TRP
ratings.
As a close competition to Star
Mahila, MAA TV is running Modern
Mahalaxmi with Roja as the lead
anchor. Both Star Mahila & Modern
Mahalaxmi are good entertainment
programs & liked by women audience
of all ages.
