I wanted to replace a defective SUN Direct SD STB.


Gave it to Sun shine center at Pattom TRIVANDRUM (KERALA).

they told replacement charges as

Rs.350 for normal SD STB.
Rs.450 for SD+ recording box.

replacement stb s available are old.

they dont accept complaint STB s.

earlier there was a SUN shine Center there, couple of months ago when i search for it at
there it was found to be permanently closed.


Now i got info that a new SUN Shine Center is opened at Thakaraparambu, Trivandrum .
It was opened on 8 May 2016 ( Source - Kerala Nodal Officer)

A happy news.


Yesterday night  i have sent an email to Kerala Nodal Officer

Today morning got a reply from the Sun Direct nodal officer.


I gave him my mobile number as per his request.

He called me, and told that Sun Direct Pattom Office is a distributor Office, not a SUN Shine Center.

He assured me that Rs.275 is the right replacement charge and he made arrangement
for my quick resolution.


:: Reason why Rs450 was charged ( As per Nodal Officer is as follows) ::

The new receptionist available at the Distributor  office charged extra for the power adapter cable coming with replacement box.
But i have already given the power adapter cable while the  STB was given for replacement.

So i will go to their office as soon a possible and collect my replacement STB.
