Sony Six secures CPL cricket for Indian TV viewers

Indian sports and entertainment channel Sony Six has acquired the exclusive local broadcast rights to the Caribbean Premier League (CPL) Twenty20 cricket tournament, which begins in Grenada on 11 July 2014.

The Multi Screen Media (MSM) operated channel will show live coverage and highlights in both standard and high definition (HD) of all 30 CPL matches, which run until 17 August 2014. Former England spinner Graeme Swann will be part of the commentary team.

"We are pleased to continue our association with CPL for the second consecutive year. This year the matches are scheduled through Thursday to Sunday featuring some of greatest global cricketing superstars. With CPL we are confident of providing our fans with enhanced viewing experience of one the cricketing series," said Prasana Krishnan, MSM executive vice-president and Sony Six business head.
Pete Russell, chief operating officer, Caribbean Premier League, added: "We're delighted to team up with Sony Six yet again this year. Through this we bring back Caribbean Premier League to the millions of cricket fans in India. We expect the 2014 tournament to be bigger and better than before."
The CPL begins on Sony Six with coverage of the opening clash between Guyana Amazon Warriors and Antigua Hawksbills in Grenada at 11.30pm on 11 July.

Sony SIX is looking has a promising line-up of events like NFL,Euro 2016,French Open,MLS including World Kabbadi League :shy .....And this is in addition to events they already broadcast ie IPL,NBA,SPL,CPL .... Although I may have missed some events (source:Promo video during Cafe Rio WC 2014 Broadcast)
 
Also SONY don't fights with Service Providers which is appreciable :tup

bro, Sony SIX has rights to Australian Open not French Open. French Open rights is with NEO Sports

Ya .... SIX definitely will need a 2nd SD/HD channel since NFL & NBA timings are bound to clash ....

Neo is a liability for someone acquiring it ...... Ten Sports also need to pull up their socks ......SIX has the 2nd spot after Star Sports
