Let more viewers enjoy non cricket sports and broadcasters will air it properly across chs...easy to blame broadcaster who can either invest in India cricket or other sports. Or if current scenario continues then PPV model would b best for all. Anyways going forward star under disney will not overspend on cricket
This is a myth. Many Non cricket sports get views in crore. Euro went for 1 month and got 61 million viewership. ISL got some 180 million which is nearly half of IPL. Same with Olympics. Many watched a hockey match instead of India vs England test. If you live in a isolated universe of cricket, then no other sports can grow as you won't even be introduced to it. I have shared many links for those numbers in past. You can search it in google if you want.

Olympics is once in 4 yrs event, ISL did well initially but later ratings have dropped and as far as i remember even sponsors reduced, Euro is again not a yearly tournament and like World Cup attracts big viewership but still lot less than cricket.

I m living in the real universe, just pinning blame on broadcasters is easy but 1st each viewer needs to introspect themselves. Many here criticise star india day and night for airing cricket and neglecting other sports but fact is they have invested much in Pro Kabaddi, ISL, Badminton, Hockey be it by owning it or acquiring rights or even both.

Anyways india cricket rights prices should come down but at the same time viewer should more open heartedly support other sports. Things r changing but every good thing takes time

As incase of everything i take a wholistic view of things rather than looking it thru a myopic vision and blaming a single factor

Dear person living in the real universe. I haven't seen any highlights of Badminton or Hockey on television for years until the Olympics. I wasn't even familiar with the rules of hockey because I didn't get to watch and learn about it.

Don't expect me as a casual viewers to watch on Star invested live events. When I don't even know the rules as I was kept away from this sport because of IPL highlights.

I have fallen in love with the sport of hockey and freestyle wrestling which wouldn't have happened if no one educated about this to me. Because during the Olympics commentators took the initiative to teach me.

Same is the case with atheletics. Just go and see on Olympics thread. Most users including myself assumed Neeraj Chopra of winning after first round as we didn't knew it took 6 tries to determine the winners. You invest in events. It's a good thing. It's your job to promote and educated me what goes on in the field. Sony does excellent job in this space. Although I don't like the Hindi commentary. But I have heard that they were explaining all the rules to new viewers during Euro 2020.

Then dear person living in another real universe plz gather more people like u , watch other sports highlights more, learn rules and watch it live too. Things will improve but pessimism or constant criticism never works
FYI learning rules does not require to watch highlights on tv...if u want to learn then u find a way....i did not knew rules of Tennis all the things were alien but i gathered information...took interest in it and now i watch match without changing the channel...this is called playing ur role in developing multi sport culture.

Give feedback to broadcasters understanding their constraints, they r willing to help us but how u convey matters

Eurosport will air La Vuelta for the first time on Indian TV. In case you want you are interested in cycling you can watch it live. Same channel also airs Judo and Karate in case you are interested in learning something new and tired of bowing down for one single import of our former colonial masters.

Giving feedbacks are more than useless. I have given so many feedbacks. The reply I got was they don't have the rights. They have urged me to watch some regional cricket which is so useless and I know they themselves don't have faith in it. It's not even broadcasted on one of the main channels and doesn't even airs in Hindi.

Dear person living in real universe. ISL ratings have increased for past 3 seasons. I have shared links confirming same in past. While this season IPL registered a double digit decline in viewership numbers. Your real universe served hot for you. (y)
Link- IPL viewership sees double digit decline in first two weeks over 2020
