2) Star Cricket - A channel set aside for 24/7 cricket
3) Star Sports - Niche Sporting Events

In addition, news & review programs such as ESPNFC and the Sports Center. How nice it would be to be back in time ....

If that was the case. Rights won't be sold on long term basis. Linear TV is going away any time soon from India atleast. News and Sports will always be preferred on TV over digital. Sports on the go or higher resolution like 4k would only attract a very minority of audience. I know people who watches SD channels on huge 55 inch TVs.
