E-auction of IPL media rights for 2023-27 likely by March-end

Star India had bought IPL's media rights for the current cycle, 2018-22, for ₹16,347.5 crore. Prior to that, Sony Pictures Networks held the media rights for 10 years, for which it had paid ₹8,200 crore.

This is Asia, not Europe. Nowhere in Latin America is the brand name Discovery Eurosport used for the sports channel. Sports channels are handled by DMAX or Turbo brands. A good portion of the screen has to be used just to show the name of the Eurosports channel. Very annoying. The name DSPORT was good. But I don't know why it was changed.

Not only that. It would be better to bid for more sports, especially cricket. Or face the misfortune of neo sports.

Discovery Group has been rumored to be merging with Warner Media. If that may happen, they would be able to show more sporting events.

Indians love International brand. On one hand you want ESPN and Fox Sports. On other you complain about getting one of the biggest sports channels in the world Eurosport. Why would any broadcaster use unpopular channels in the region like Turbo and DMax?
