I think it's a some kind of deal bcz when star showing ad of India's upcoming matches till world cup which live on star
They mention india tour of westindies
Means India tour westindies comes live on star sports channel
Legends League Cricket too shared with fancode in last minute.
Another streamer is needed. Can't expect JioCinema to buy everything. Even these league can sell the subscription directly on youtube. Something like Impact Wrestling is directly selling monthly specials on youtube for youtube members which is ₹150 monthly.
Fancode itself big streaming brand now, Dream sports should sale fancode brand to Adani or Tata for bigger growth.
You think broadcast business started without burning cash. Streaming is extremely profitable in coming years.
I Agree, Streaming profitable with Ads and Subscription in coming years. also I agree on broadcasters business, like Neo/Star sports lost huge money from overpaid media Rights.

Viacom18 lost millions in FIFA WC this year but I think they knew they would when they bid for the tournament itself

Qataris themselves are investor in Bodhi Tree. So they can afford to burn. I am wondering about what they will earn from IPL next year. Viewership is in decline. Ad rates have gone down. If they are giving away for free with ads to non Jio customers. I am trying to understand the purpose of acquiring the streaming rights.
