There r high chances, also previously too during IPL Star Sports have been offered for free across various cable, DTH platforms

Disney surely is more cautious as compared to Fox in going overboard with spending on rights of sporting properties or even keeping other costs in control but when need arises to push the peddle on spending for a good reason then they will not hold back on the same. I am quite sensing that we might get Star Sports channels for Free during IPL and even get host of other atrractive features like some active/interactive services enabled on such channels to access features like multi cam viewing, real time data about players/ match etc.

RIL’s Sports 18 can’t give women ipl for free, why we can expect it from STAR?

U r making wrong comparisons. I already explained why Star Sports will feel the need to give their channels for free during IPL. It is not out of giving it free bcoz of individual preference of the broadcaster as by doing so they lose out on subscriptions revenue but a step which is needed to expand viewership and make ip for the loss thru ad revenue

Why would Reliance offer Sports 18 for free during Women's IPL when there is no such competitive need to do so...having Said that to expand reach and promote WPL they can as well decide to give the channel on FTA basis during the tournament
