F1 x STAR Sports, truely nothing but end of era

Buddy with time changes do happen and we need to accept it. It is okay to be somewhat sad due to memories or emotional attachments with a thing but with fast changing ground reality in broadcast/media landscape there will shift in strategy adopted by broadcasters / platforms for catering to different segments of viewer base while focusing on maintaining afinally viable business model :)

In India we r still getting access to lot many variety of sports across TV Channels or OTT at extremely affordable pricing even though there r humongous challenges faced by broadcasters / platforms at various levels to meet the demands of viewers and keep balance between expenses vs revenue earned. A common person may not be aware of such issues and r not bound to but still those aware should inform others about it so that they take a rationale stand on things even while requesting to broadcasters for airing their favorite sports or know why a sporting event is not airing on TV or India Cricket is being aired more

star sports is losing its ground in sports broadcasting they are investing lost properties and letting go of niche and exclusive sporting rights be it in squash, football, cricket rights, baseball, tennis, f1 or golf.... india cricket which they show is shared with dd so people are getting it for free, ICC, ACC rights all india matches are shared with DD so whats the point too be more cricket centric and leaving out on niche sports.. only thing Star had was IPL now that too telecasting it on star utsav movies they have nailed last nail on their coffin when m getting to watch IPL for less then a rupee why what i subscribe rs22 channel. even for advertisers will advertise on SUM rather star sports Hindi...

I disagree on last part. Select few audience subscribes sports channel as Alacarte. These channels reaches to most of customers via Star's pack. Ad revenue is where it counts. Subscription revenue of these channels doesn't matter. Although I agree the most foolish thing they did by airing IPL on Star Utsav Movies is confusing advertisers. They could've targeted rural ad base with a DD FreeDish exclusive only channel. Now if they decide to pull plug for Star Utsav Movies from pay DTH and cable TV. Pay TV market will object.
