So now to maximise revenue they r launching language wise channel for infotainment, sports channels. While all this focus of upping profit is fine, not providing good variety of content + 99% airtime to cricket on sports channels while ignoring other sports is not acceptable. Will kids channels be next target?

Also i have seen kids channels even airing same ad in multiple languages since last 6 or 7 years, so can't this be done with infotainment or sports channels? What is the need to launch region or language specific channel unless localised brands r showing huge interest which does not seem so at present. Some small regional ads can be accomodated on main feed by charging less money and muting audio on other audio feeds except parent one while it is aired

Now this is absolutely ridiculous decision ever made by so called Prime Broadcaster of India! By Launching same channel Contents in 2 Different Regional Language are not at all welcome in Post TRAI regime era. No new Contents will be aired unless the same variant of Programmes from English Nat Geo with repeat of multiple times in a day. By ruin a smart channel Nat George People now SIPL going or playing safe to squeeze more bucks from your Pocket in name of Modification of Broadcasters Package. Hopeless!!!!

Instead of launching 2 Regional Nat George, SIPL can easily launch Star Sports 3 HD in course of this World Cup as we are observing that most Double Header World Cup Matches starting from 6 pm IST suddenly shifted to Star Sports 3 only with SD variant. Now in 2019 who will be interested to watch World Cup in SD variant? So it will become more worthy if they recall Star Sports 3 HD. May some E.T power give SIPL some valuable brains.

Already Star Sports Regional Variants are not doing well in the TRP race as expected by SIPL. Further launching Regional Variants of National Channel will not only mess the audience thought process but will now shell extra Levy from Budget. Instead of Re.1/- for Nat Geo People HD they want to cut your pocket by charging at least Rs.4/- for same repeatative content for 2 Channels.

Tamil, Telugu, combo packs involving Tamil,Telugu and All South packages will carry them.
 
Sad to see NGC not being made available in Kannada.
True. Only Tamil, Telugu and Bengali audio feeds are available. History TV18 alone has gone as far as Marathi. However, Kannada and Malayalam are completely ignored.

OTOH, SS1 Gujarati is on the cards even though Star has refused to enter the Gujarati GEC market. :skd: :skd:
 
Tamil language contribute high viewership, thats why broadcasters choose Tamil after Hindi.Afterall it act as an experimental approach towards regional languages.Telugu also a big market and now things are completely favourable to Star so Telugu too selected.its a truth that Star gives no priority to Malayalam and Kannada. Even though the market leader,they only serves in Gec and Movie genres in Malayalam,at the same time Surya(Sun) launched movie,kids,music,comedy channels.

Sun has music, kids and comedy channels in all the languages except Bangla. This is not a yardstick to measure how successful a channel is in a market. Sun is lagging behind in Karnataka (along with Star). Paying attention to a market does not necessarily mean covering many genres.
