Honestly any broadcaster cannot do much in this genre. Unlike English Movies genre where there is vast possibility to sustain as there is large audience waiting to b grabbed bcoz even those not fluent in English watch films for action scenes or other such things, in English GEC there is no option as regular audience moved to OTT and new emerging audience hard to capture... The ratio of investment and outcome simply do not match up. Viacom18 too just continuing their chs to have a vibrant bouquet. All chs r struggling. If censorship rules were lenient then chances were for these chs to compete with ott

Then why channels like HBO, WB couldn't sustain

This idea is good but they have to launch ESPN brand for other sporting events. For cricket they should stick with only Star cricket, star cricket select channels

Bcoz channels backed by smaller broadcasters find it difficult to maintain a balanced ratio. There r more distribution and content cost vs revenue issues for them... They could have sustained but WarnerMedia thought is it better to sell movie rights to others and earn while putting resources in kids chs segment. I think HBO SD should have been continued....their kids channels are not doing well too so better have some vibrancy in bouquet. Who knows they might relaunch it as now Discovery is their partner and a wholesome bouquet looks good
