English GEC Star World Premiere HD will premiere the drama series, ‘The Leftovers’ on 28 October.
The show will air at 9 pm and from Monday-Friday.
‘The Leftovers’ is an adaptation of Tom Perrotta’s novel of the same name.
The mind-bending series revolves around life on earth three years after a global event called the ‘Sudden Departure’ – the inexplicable, simultaneous disappearance of 140 million people, 2% of the world’s population without any explanation, and its consequential effect on those remaining as they try to rebuild their lives.
Starring Justin Theroux, Amy Brenneman, Christopher Eccleston, Liv Tyler, Ann Dowd, Carrie Coon and more, ‘The Leftovers’ is a series based on a simple yet tragic concept that what we love the most usually brings the most pain into our lives but if we avoid that struggle for meaning and connection, we’re not alive at all.
The plot mainly follows the Garvey family and their acquaintances in the fictional town of Mapleton, New York. Kevin Garvey is the chief of police. His wife Laurie has joined the Guilty Remnant. Their son Tommy has left home for college, and their daughter Jill is acting out.
