Sultan Fails to Beat Baahubali First Day Record
Bollywood box office king Salman Khan’s latest Eid release ‘Sultan’, which was released on 6th July, was expected to shatter the First Day Record of SS Rajamouli’s epic film “Baahubali: The Beginning” but surprisingly, Sultan fell well short.
Baahubali: The Beginning collected a whopping Rs 45 Cr net on Day 1 from all the languages it was released in, but Sultan could only collect Rs 36.54 Cr net on Day 1.
Even though Sultan was released in more number of screens than Baahubali’s count, the Salman starrer wrestling drama surprised the trade circuits by lagging behind.
However, Sultan has registered excellent figures on Day 2, over Rs 40 Cr. With positive word of mouth all over and a five-day weekend in the vicinity, we have to see whether Sultan can go on to beat Baahubali in its full run or not.
