On October 2015 (planned) GSAT-15 will be launched.The satellite will carry 24 ku band transponders and its longitude is 93.5° East. So will this benifit Sun direct? Already Sun direct has one tp from 93.5 East.
Is it the main reason for the delay of Regulatory clearance? May be it can be a reason for the delay. Any information about this.
Arianespace announced on November 14, 2013 that it had been contracted by ISRO to launch the satellite. Arianespace launched the Measat 3b too. Bit interesting thing.

Its not compulsory thing. If sun direct wish they can change it. Its all up to sun direct. Yes you are right,Insat is already in that slot and that means the signal of GSAT15 can also be recieved without any change in alignment.
Sun direct should also have the advantage of using Insat,gsat and Measat Simultaneously. One case that has to be taken care is that Insat is almost a unreliable stuff and has some power failures in the past.That means it can go down at any time and the GSAT15 is actually a replacement too.
