In Sun TV you can see the ratio change easily when contents of 16:9 and 4:3 ratio are being played. But now in Sun Music that change cannot be seen by us.

Once this tested in Sun Music, they need to do this for Sun TV and K TV too..

Before changing all these things, Sun Music should know what is the meaning of "Break Free Songs". Now they are playing advertisements in the show called "Break Free Songs".

For HD contents, I just feel that Sun TV HD has very good PQ comparing Sun Music HD..

Yes bro. I wonder how Sun Tv can play old movies too in good quality. I won't say HD, but in very good quality.

Sadiq bro, I don't know how you manage to see HD songs with black bars on Sun Music HD. VH1 HD, MTV Beats HD and Sony Rox HD always show songs in full screen in HD quality. MTunes HD used to show with black bars but it has shut down.

As it is SM HD can't show songs in full screen. On top of that they are messing up the aspect ratio like this. :dodgy

Bro, hope you have not watched songs in Vijay HD... Sun Music HD is lot better than Vijay HD

What Sun Music plays is the correct one bro..

All HD channels including Sun Music HD, VH1 HD, MTV Beats HD and Sony ROX HD are broadcasting in 16:9 ratio. Now a days all HD contents (from film industry) are being shot in 2.39:1 ratio which is more wider than 16:9 ratio.

When you place more wider content on small wider display, the height of the content will be reduced in order to view the full content. So you will be seeing black bars on top and bottom.

If you fit the height of the content equals to screen height, then the left and right side part of the content will not be visible in the display.

Look at the below image.

standards1.png

Black box is 4:3 ratio. It is the ration of old CRT TVs.
While watching 4:3 ratio videos in 4:3 TV, you will not see black bars.

While watching 16:9 ratio videos in 4:3 TV, you will see black bars on top and bottom to accommodate full video content in actual height and width.

While watching 2.39:1 ratio videos in 4:3 TV, you will see black bars (with additional height than 16:9 black bars) on top and bottom.

If you want to avoid black bars and still want to watch full content, the picture needs to be stretched vertically. The height of the objects on the video content will be taller than usual.

If you want to avoid black bars and want to maintain the height & width of objects in the video content, then you will not be able to see the full content. You have to lose the additional left and right side contents (as seen in the image).

Blue box is 16:9 ratio. It is the ration of current LCD/LED TVs.
While watching 4:3 ratio videos in 16:9 TV, you will see black bars on left and right side of the content in order to maintain the aspect ratio. Since we never used to see vertical bars on left and right side, TV channels are stretching the content to fit in 16:9 ratio. At this time, the width of objects in the video will be wider than usual.

While watching 16:9 ratio videos in 16:9 TV, you will not see black bars on top and bottom and can see full video content. Most of the TV serials and programs are being shot in 16:9 ratio and so they are perfectly fitting in 16:9 ratio TV without black bars. You will see full content in actual width and height of objects.

While watching 2.39:1 ratio videos in 16:9 TV, you will see black bars on top and bottom in order to accommodate full video content in actual height and width of objects.

Same like 4:3 TV, if you want to avoid black bars and still want to watch full content on 16:9 ratio TV, the picture needs to be stretched vertically. The height of the objects on the video content will be taller than usual.

If you want to avoid black bars and want to maintain the height & width of objects in the video content, then you will not be able to see the full content. You have to lose the additional left and right side contents (as seen in the image).

Now in Sun Music HD, we are seeing full video content. But in MTV Beats and Sony ROX, you will be seeing correct height and width but not full content. If 7 persons are appearing in original video, you will see only 5 persons. Rest 2 will not be visible in display. Same thing is being done by English movies channels too. But Hindi movie channels are playing movies with black bars (at least most of them like Star Plus HD, Star Gold HD, Sony TV HD, Sony Max HD).
