MUMBAI: Southern major Sun TV Network has posted a standalone net profit of Rs 7.72 billion for the fiscal ended 31 March 2011, representing a 36.1 per cent growth from the year-ago period.
Net sales of the company rose 38 per cent to Rs 19.23 billion, as against Rs 13.95 billion in the earlier year.
Profit from operations (before other income and interest) is up 34.59 per cent to Rs 11.10 billion, as against Rs 8.25 billion last fiscal. The company's other income, meanwhile, grew marginally to Rs 467.9 million, as against Rs 425.1 million in FY’10.
Meanwhile, on a consolidated basis, Sun TV Network's net profit jumped 48.06 per cent to Rs 7.7 billion, from Rs 5.2 billion in FY’10.
