No French Open for Tata Sky viewers
Tata Sky subscribers will be unable to watch the
likes of Rafael Nadal, Novak Djokovic and Maria
Sharapova in the climactic stages.
The semifinals and finals of the French Open will be
played over the weekend. Sports fans who had
missed out on the earlier rounds were hoping that
there would be resolution between direct-to-home
service provider Tata Sky and French Open
broadcaster Neo Sports. But the deadlock continues.

tournament.
Neo Sports and Tata Sky are feuding over payment
issues. Last September, Tata Sky discontinued the
two Neo channels from its package, after which it
received a notice from Telecom Disputes Settlement
& Appellate Tribunal (TDSAT) to explain its decision.
The next hearing with TDSAT is in July. The case is in
the evidence stage, where Neo Sports has to prove
its contentions against the DTH provider. "The case
has reached the evidence stage wherein Neo Sports
would produce sufficient documents to prove biased
and discriminatory approach of Tata Sky," said Neo
Sports in an email response to ETPanache.
Sources close to the matter say the litigation process
is not expected to end for at least five months. The
Neo Sports mail added, "Neo Sports has lost a
considerable subscriber base. However, subscribers
of Tata Sky are the main affected party. They are
being deprived of world class sporting events viz
French Open, Bundesliga (German Football
Premiership) , PGA Golf, etc." Till the time of going
to press, Tata Sky did not respond to questions.
