I think some of the channels were already their on GSAT-10, so may be all shifted to this sat for better reception as this is new sat .

Is the whole satellite equipment & technology made in India :shy:huh

100% Made in India but launched on top of Ariane V :k

Now The Question Comes As To Whether TATA-SKY Will Be Able To Add Many More Channels" Including The HD Ones, Once The GSAT Ku-Band Transponders Become Operational?

We Know GSAT-10 Has 12 Ku-Band Transponders, Just Like The INSAT 4A. The Number Of Channels That Can Be Crammed Into Each Transponders Is Fixed, And Is Unlikely To Be Any Different From The INSAT 4A, Unless The Bit-Rate For Individual Channels Is Drastically Reduced. So How Would TATA-SKY Be Able To Accommodate More Channels Once It shift's To The GSAT-10?

How To Add More Channels Without Reducing The Bit Rate For The Existing Channels?

Any Idea Please Reply !!!

By activating dual polarity maybe (which could double the capacity). In any case after complete migration to mpeg4, even on current sat, TS will still have space to add 50+ SD and 20+ HD channels. So no worries. :)
