I think judgement will come in favor of Arasu.

That's why, few days back, TRAI said "a MSO should hold only 50% of connection share in a state hereafter." (by knowing the upcoming TDSAT judgement)

That statement shows the intention of TRAI to curb Arasu and supporting SCV.:wall

Yes, i too think so.

But my questions for Arasu would be....

1: When did TN start to worry about what others say?? The history has tonnes of such happenings where we did what is good for our people....

2: If operators deny serving the purpose just consider this as just as any other business or another TASMAC type and create your own operators and reach out to the people and deliver STB's on rental or FREE (increase the subscription to Rs 120 for all ENG, TAMIL & SPORTS and Rs 150 for addon with all other regional packs and use the additional funds for providing STB) and then fight for your cause in the SC.

Since people are already paying Rs 100 for Cable just Rs 20 increase from the current cable prices wont bring any opposition from the public.

With peoples support definitely this will become a huge one and who would oppose??

Its easy.... Arasu can register under different names like Arasu Chennai East, West, North & South, Arasu Trichy, Arasu Kovai etc and do business together so nowhere it would cross 50%... ;) :k

For this only currently Cable operators protesting against TN . Don't create new operators.
Current Chennai LCO's have few questions about Arasu cable.

-> What are the Channels Arasu provide in Analog , if FTA channels only means, what about PAY channels. Is it LCOs provide two connections all the area , which is impossible and cost will double for them.
-> Arasu yet to start giving connection to STB, when they start giving connection to Digital mode. till that time, LCOs do have two cable connections( one for analog, and another for Digital(paychannels)) , then have only one connection
-> If Arasu provides same analog list (may be 1 or 2 channels addition), then it is not at all worth for the LCOs to spend this much money.
-> Arasu forcing to buy STB with out giving digital connection. How come LCOs will spend that much money, which they cann't sell to customer immediately.

Hence most Current LCOs yet to connect Arasu. If the case go in favour of Arasu, then arasu wil start digital mode immediately, and hope most or all LCOs in chennai wil join.

SCV removed STB ad, and it is not returned yet.

Once they've got the license, STB price and package prices will comes down..

At present STB - Rs.1500 with single package of Rs.100 for 200 channels.

No wonder if they provide free STB like free mixie, fan, grinder in future..

I'll also wait for another 3 months..If no improvement, will go for DTH..

Fingers crossed...

STB cost rs. 1500 is ok, if the package cost Rs. 100 for all popular channels (including popular pay channels) which most of the LCOs and people will shift to Arasu.
Let's see what SCV going to do , after madras HC finished the Arasu Case.

Yes, you are right. Arasu is yet to clarify on the following for Chennai people,

1: Who are the Arasu LCO's?
2: Package cost.
3: Number of channels/List of channels.
4: Where to get STB?

If Arasu wants to go analogue then they can just clarify the top 3 queries and go analogue. :tup :k

But Arsu's silence right from the beginning only suggests that they have no intention of serving the Chennai people. :-/

Excellent Pack. Hope within 3 months they are available or they come as a new year surprise :sp :sp.

Its more than 17 months or 1.5 years since we raised this question (started this thread) and we still don't seem to have found an answer.

Majority of the Chennai homes are struck in analogue till date with no access to pay channels.

For the betterment of the people,

Either 1: SCV has to start supplying STB on a faster scale either by providing low cost STB (Within Rs 700 or 1000) so people can both afford to have an STB and have access to quality pay channels.
Or 2: Arasu has to move into Chennai and extend their service to the TN Capital city.

Both will not happen.

SCV is not interested in adding new customers, they are just idle and interested retain their existing customers.

DMK haven't spoken a single word about Arasu till now and during past parliamentary election' manifesto & rally too which makes us to think they are against Arasu and supporting SCV in disguise.

DMDK in angry mood against Arasu since their news channel not included in pack..

Even BJP not interested to offer DAS License anytime sooner..

For a safer side, present ADMK govt should start seed STB with existing CAS License before 2016 TN Assembly elections..

If they digitize atleast 50% of analog connections in TN and Chennai, then it would be harder to remove Arasu from TN by any other political party in future.

Concerned Arasu authorities should start focus on digital cable service too along with broadband service..

Hope Arasu digital service should not move as a poll promise for one more election...:angry:angry:angry
