The mystic poet and philosopher Rumi describes eternal love as ‘lovers don’t finally meet somewhere. They’re in each other all along.’
The quote exemplifies H.S. Rawail’s immortal love story ‘Laila Majnu’ in every sense. Adhering to its core proposition ‘Woh Zamaana Kare Deewana’, Zee Classic is staging the set for the epic romantic saga on Friday, 3rd July at 9 PM.
The film that will be aired for the first time on the channel stars Rishi Kapoor as the jilted lover Qais (AKA Majnu) along with Ranjeeta Kaur as the love of his life Laila.
One of the interesting and lesser known fact associated with the film is around its enthralling music.
Legendary composer Madan Mohan passed away before completing the film’s score and the loss was the biggest blow to the production unit.
As the music required certain quality of Sufism, finding his replacement to work on the existing tracks turned out to be a daunting task.
It was later, National Award winning music composer, Jaidev (known for films like Hum Dono, Reshma aur Shera etc.) filled his shoes and delivered a fantastic musical score.
