That might've been an exaggerated news piece based on this article:

We will look at urban markets because Maharashtra is an urban state per se. It is not just about Mumbai, it is also about Pune, Nagpur, Nashik, Kolhapur, Satara, Sangli, Amaravati. If you look at the urbanisation that has happened throughout the state you will realise that a large mass is urban. That is a space that is also giving numbers even for established channels. So we will go after the urban mass, definitely. Of course, Sony has been an urban channel so Sony Marathi will follow the lead.
