India’s leading English news channel, Times Now is preparing for its UK launch, BizAsia can exclusively reveal.
The channel was recently awarded its licence from media regulator, Ofcom, to broadcast in the UK.
Times Now has been mulling over the idea of launching in the UK for months. It’s launch couldn’t come at a better time after leading in its genre in India as the most watched English news channel in India.
Times Now will join its nearest rivals NDTV 24×7 and News18 India, both of which target the English speaking Indian audience.
Times Now is expected to begin broadcasting in the UK before the end of the year. Official details of the launch will be unveiled soon
