is this in chennai also?
Mostly Chennai LCOs may not take part in it since SCV allowed LCOs to charge upto Rs.130/-

Only on tomorrow we can able to see LCOs intensity as the day progress since LCOs doesn't have support neither from political parties nor the TV & Print Media..

Keeping fingers crossed on how tomorrow's protest impacts on TN Cable Industry..

LCOs request is reasonable, but as a subscriber it's not comfortable for me to pay Rs.150 for just 50 Channels offered by Maran's SCV or for Analog Arasu.:no

A binary decision on Arasu DAS License issue from BJP govt can only sort out the uneasiness prevailed in TN Cable Industry..

It's time for BJP Govt to break the silence..:a

I don't think, it will applicable to Chennai. LCOs protesting against Govt. to increase monthly subscribtion, not to private sector (SCV).
mostly , outside chennai , this shutdown will happen.

1: Arasu when going DAS would mostly give all pay channels well within Rs 150 with or without these LCO's.
2: Now we have an DTH called Zing that gives 34 tamil channels with 128 other channels in digital quality for just Rs 139 with proper billing incl of tax and an STB for just Rs 1,099 the lowest in TN.

Now we see these LCO's who gives just 70 + Channels in viewable non-digital quality demanding for Rs 150 a month.

LCO's want Rs 150 for basic analogue cable with max 40 channels (in Chennai) and max 70 channels (outside Chennai), can any LCO answer why shouldn't people consider the following DTH pack which is cheaper by Rs 11 and has almost all tamil channels with additional 128 other channels?

What makes their basic analogue superior to the following DTH digital feed?

(If someone wants to ask "why are you still in analogue? who stopped you from moving to DTH?", please ignore this discussion as this discussion is not for monopolistic MSO hard fans/promoters.)

Looks like the cable tv blackout was successful across TN, but Arasu wont and also cant justify the hike to Rs 150 to people unless they offer CAS/DAS with all tamil, sports and eng channels via STB.

Also LCO's say that from May 2015 they will take control of MSO operations across the state.

So the only option left to Arasu seems to be to create its own operators and implement its plans.
