And how can I use it for

Component out is a type of video out put, which can send better quality signals than RCA and S-Video. On your STB, you see 3 connector (above the RED, WHITE, YELLOW cable now you have connected), they are for component out. If you have similar connector on your TV, use this connection instead of yellow cable connected now. You will get a slightly better picture.
