MUMBAI: On the occasion of World Music Day on 21 June, English entertainment channel Vh1 will host a first-of-its-kind online music festival titled ‘Vh1 Relay Music Festival’.
For the first time in India, Vh1 will host a music festival on social networking platform Twitter. Each artist associated with the festival will take over the Vh1 twitter id for an hour and a half each and consistently share YouTube video links along with a one line descriptor one after the other.
The artists will further engage with Vh1 fans following the handle and revert to comments and tweets related to World Music Day. The fest will commence at 12 noon on Sunday.
Some of the artists who will be a part of the online music fest include Lost Stories, an EDM duo composed of Prayag Mehta and Rishab Joshi; Sandunes, a full time electronic music project of Sanaya Ardeshir Mumbai based producer, composer & synth player; Alobo Naga, a composer and a songwriter who plays the guitar and piano with ease; Delhi Sultanate, a project of Taru Dalmia who is a dancehall and hip hop singer and performance poet based in New Delhi; SICKFLIP, a bass heavy solo project brought to life by Sarvesh Shrivastava, 22-year-old music producer and DJ from Mumbai; Anish Sood, a DJ; Nucleya, founded by Udyan Sagar who is former member and partner of Bandish Projekt; Kini Rao, an electronic music producer and house/tech DJ from Hyderabad; Voctronica, India’s first all-vocal ensemble; Bombay Bassment, an urban outfit by two Goans, one South Indian and one African; and Them clones, an Indian rock band.
