Prime Video have the exclusive rights for all the New Zealand home games ie., they own the broadcasting rights as well as streaming rights. So, don't expect them sub lisencing them to anyone but DD Sports, that too only for Indian LOI's.

I think here DD Sports might end up broadcasting on private DTH and cable as well. Or Amazon might be forced to sell the satellite rights. As I don't see national importance matches be left out of private tv

As per law, right holder/broadcaster of indian territory has to share feed for national importance sports. So if amazon donot sub license then it should not object dd sports live feed on private DTH. it is not clear though.

They have to share feed only for DD Free Dish availability. Mandatory sharing doesnt apply to DTH and cable

They always have licenses with generic names. If they had to launch a channel they wouldn't have mentioned MTV. They would had made a big announcement about it.

I feel later on after possible official merger announcement with Sony, these will b aired on Sony Sports Network. I am seeing dedicated investment in particular genres by Sony or Viacom18

That is legal part. But i am saying amazon should not have problem with dd sports feed on dth/cable if they are not sublicensing. Otherwise there will be shortage of FTA boxes in India as FTA box is better than amazon prime plan+ Data cost

MTV is a youth brand. Most people mistake it to be music channel. No! It's a entertainment channel. Also major focus being youth. Unlike cricket , football has young audience more. So it would be easy for them to get audience on mtv
