No problem for you since you already have a box with you. The problem may be for new customers. May be the plan is to give them HD box with SD pack with box cost as same as SD box cost. So that in future migration to HD pack is easy. I guess so.

yes currently they are giving HD box with IR remote for sd connection and av cable

and for Hd connection they giving same hd box with hdmi cable and rf remote
