Virgin Media to launch four new channels

Cable platform, Virgin Media will be expanding its Asian variety offerings by launching four new channels over the coming days.
First will be Al Jazeera English launching on Thursday 13th December on channel 605.
This will be followed by three entertainment channels includingStar Gold on channel 801. Recently, Star TV UK launched its Star Life Ok as a replacement for ABP News. With the addition of Star Gold – Star TV’s Sky Digital portfolio channels – only Star Jalsha and Star Plus HD will be the only ones not to be available on Virgin Media. However, BizAsia understands that plans are there to launch Star Plus HD on the platform in the near future.
New entertainment channel, Rishtey will also mark its launch on Virgin Media later this month on channel 827.
Popular Bollywood film channel, UMP Movies will also be launchingon Virgin Media on channel 830.
The three entertainment channelsare expected to join the Asian Mela bundle, however, it is yet to be confirmed.[attachment=2297]
