I mean they advertise it is ₹22 for HD for Zee Marathi
but I suspect it is a lie,

sometime ago I heard about operators are providing some FTA boxes free for short time - Zing, SUN etc
I wonder which one of those will be cheapest for a single channel?

again buying those boxes will be another extra expense for me

Sun and Airtel fta box will be cheapest as there is no ncf.
So ₹22.42 incuding the gst will be the overall cost per month.
Sun regular box will be ₹22.42+₹50(ncf)=₹72.42
Airtel regular box will be ₹22.42+₹153(ncf)=₹176.42

in that case my costly tata sky hd+ recorder box becomes obsolete, and no use in such cases
maybe tata play should make existing boxes FTA free for short time
but I dont see that possible as some TATA PLAY business selling news comes

I am now stuck with high investment in HD+ box
and grass seems greener on the SUN/AirTel fta boxes side of the fence

btw what is the cost of Sun and Airtel fta box?
what do I do with my HD+box, bummer

Thats not possible as all the boxes are locked and encrypted.

You will need to buy a FTA box separately.

SunHD box with 2yr FTA validity is ₹1.1k wo dish+intallation.
AirtelHD box with 2.5yr FTA validity is ₹1.6k wo dish+installation.

Yes, you can point your existing dish to sun or airtel satellite direction.

Sun does not charge anything for recording option.

Video quality of Airtel is better.
Audio quality of Sun is better than all DTH on primary feed.

You cannot root/hack TP or any other dth stb.
Local FTA STB can only be used for DD free dish. You cannot subscribe any pay channel on it.

Sun and Airtel FTA box will be the cheapest option to watch the channel(s) you like. Just check who offers the channels of your choice and buy.
