What is CA Module Option in tata sky?

A option in system settings in tata sky comes CA Module.

But i don't know what is that for?

that ia for use of cam cards when interoperability will come into effect , in that case suppose if u want to shift to airtel, u will have to buy adtv cam card and insert in tata sky box cam card slot and u will get airtel dth channels
