1.In foreign channels content is given importance unlike quantity in india
2.Each day of the week is important unlike weekends in india

In India, pay channels has more ads than FTA channels in most cases(Eg:Sun TV, Asianet etc during movie premieres). Why we pay for the pro version of softwares or apps? -one reason is for not showing ads. But in TV channels its arbitrary.

Windows 10 cost big but still shows ads

Indian versions of international brands like AXN, HBO and Discovery are filled with ads and are of lower quality than the international versions. HBO India used to be operated by HBO Asia but then they given the channel to Turner India and since then it’s become a typical movie channel, it doesn’t show HBO TV series at all.

Discovery India channels sometimes shows Teleshopping during the breaks (especially niche channels like Turbo and Science) but Discovery Asia channels for example are ad free.

Another thing. Sun TV and ETV are the only GECs that show news. No other Indian GEC in any language shows news (at least not the big ones; smaller GECs like Tamil and Malayalam political mouthpieces will show news). In contrast, all the foreign GECs show news.

 India is the one and only country where HBO is operated by Turner. Nowhere else is HBO controlled by Turner Broadcasting System.

Why Indian govt not taking any action for playing ads in pay channels.
Why TRAI not consider this one before streamline price ?

In America, you'll notice that foreign TV channels have picture quality that looks decent, if not perfect, on 4K TVs. In most cases, text will be sharp and move smoothly at 60fps. Unfortunately, Indian TV channels do not meet this quality standard. Honestly, I don't think they are comparing their product to foreign channels available outside India.

Kids genre is also where the channels are very different. For example Disney outside of India shows Disney animated TV series, live action shows and movies but in India they rely on Doraemon 24/7. Once upon a time it used to be like the international versions but that’s no longer the case sadly

if indian tv channels stops showing ads the price of each channel will be high....see the price of foreign channels they are expensive.....most people are thinking rs 19 for a channels is expensive and still want foreign channels
