Considering the price hikes and gimmicky packages from DTH operators the switch is invertible.

In dish / d2h getting for Rs.170 per month now and Rs.112 before few years - Recharge for 24 months get 32 months offer. That's why Sun Direct with low NCF is success in TN and people not interested in HD Channels for low earning people.

This should happen in below process

1. Trai should mandate Broadcasters to not charge extra for HD feed
2. Few cunning Broadcasters then increase the price of SD channels instead of decreasing HD price to match equality.
3. People will start opting for HD feeds instead of SD
4. Then Trai should mandate one more rule of HD only feed.

And any new channel launch should be of HD only feed with immediate effect

Really? Which channel does it include? FTA and few penny channels which just re run the old crappy shows that too in sd resolution.
Except Sun direct there's no operator which provides value for money packages, but availability of North regional channels is still a issue.
