Why paid dth companies like d2h tata sky dish tv sundirect airtel introduced cardless satellite box? Is there is any change encryption technology nowdays?

Cardless set top boxes have inbuilt chip inside which are harder to decrypt compared to smart card boxes and hence provides more security against piracy activities. That's one of the main reasons I can think of.
