One thing I want to say that the Picture quality depends not only on Signal but also on Processing power of the TV. You cannot expect Good picture quality from Good quality signal with a Low end TV or Bad quality signal with a Higher end TV. ;)

I m watching ABS1 channels and ADTV channels on the same TV. :P
Moreover, these days... High end LED's/ LCD's are common, supporting highest pq qualities offered by HD channels.

Exactly most of the regional lack quality. people are more worried about quantity of these regional channels here.

A channel like TEN HD or HBO HD makes massive a difference for the us HD subscribers. but that seems so far away since they are wasting all the new acquired space on these poor quality regional channels instead of HD channels.

And these HD channels are complete waste for those who don't have (almost 80% Indian Household) pricey LCD/LED or Plasma TV . :lol

Bro try to understand India is still not HD ready (not ready for 4G LTE as well). ;) It will take almost 5 - 10 more years for HD to become mainstream as till now Most people still using CRT. So Demand for SD is Higher.

But yes HD is gaining market share at a good pace.

Are you watching same channel on ABS1 and ADTV ? At same bitrate? Please specify. Picture quality depends on Bit rate, Not on satellite.

It may happen that ADTV has reduced Bitrate to conserve bandwidth.

Yes, that is the only problem... Indian DTH ops compress channels to conserve bandwidth and squeeze more channels in allocated capacity. :hello

Yep. Lower bit-rate reduce PQ. Hope after open sky policy DTH providers will be able to hire more bandwidth from foreign Sat. :c

1.The category which you are talking about normally prefer cable instead of DTH.
2. For many people having a Big TV of popular brand (like Sony) with all smart features is for status like one of the furniture in the house. They pay more money for the features which they never use.
3. How many of us in this forum having latest FHD TVs have HD connection is a big question. They spend money on TVs , On BDP and BD disks but not for HD connection.
4.Watching Movies and Sports in HD gives lot of pleasure and comfort .
5. Leaving the people who still prefer Cable connection all DTH customers should opt for HD connection , but our Tatasky talks more ,advertise toomuch for HD boxes with limited HD channels (of these a very few are popular )
