Why the hell Koffee With Karan is forced on us by Star World 10 times a day?

But they took away a Star World original show to fill the time slot with outdated episodes of yesteryears of same show in three channels no less. Does Star World, Star World HD and Star World Premiere needs 12-13 hours of old episodes of Koffee with Karan?

Viacom is premiering a new original show The Inventor Chalenge today at 8 pm. It's not that the market doesn't have potential. It is Star who doesn't can look past regional and cricket channels. Till date Disney International HD the only proper English Entertainment channel isn't included in any of the bouquets. Tge only channel that is been left out of bouquets. The channel is the only family friendly entertainment channel across all languages. Otherwise vulgarity is there even on kids channels.

Wait a little more buddy, i am certain that plans r being revaluated by star / disney which is why u can see big pause in launch of new channels. Yes, some channel launches are on hold bcoz of delay in implementation of NTO 2.0 as then only broadcasters can include new channels or make changes in RIO and sign agreements with operators , if they launch new channels right now then it will b extremely difficult to pay carriage fee to so many operators for placement of new channels as these cannot b included in NTO 1.0 (only exception is if they decide to rebrand a channel within same genre and keep bouquet , pricing etc. same like UTV HD can b rebranded to Star Gold 2 HD keeping all other things same, name can b updated in current RIO and LCN changed on various platforms ).

Who knows as we interact, star/disney officials might b working on bringing FX or ABC channel to India inplace of Star World.

Disney International HD will most likely be included in either Star Premium Pack HD soon or a new Disney HD bouquet will b launched which will include this channel alongwith hungama HD, Disney Channel HD.... Quite possible that all these disney channels might b integrated into Star Value Pack , Star Premium Pack and its HD version. Also high possibility of hindi, regional audio feeds getting added on Disney International HD.

Star Gold Select likely to b included against in Star Value Prime bouquet / pack

Even expecting a kids movie channel with multiple audio feeds to b launched by star/disney soon.

Some other channels might also launch as i have discussed in other threads in the past

Those old episodes r being aired to just fill in time till new strategy is decided upon and gets implemented. If u notice even Star Bharat adopted this approach some months back. Just a wait a little more dada, we may get lots of good news soon.

New Season of Koffee With Karan premiering on disney+hotstar is a calculated, well planned strategy to test if direct OTT premiere can can really yield good results. At present even if they aired new season on Star World then it won't have been successful as lot of target audience has moved to OTT or unsubscribed the channel and not helped the channel in anyway as it is not having any other content to boost ratings thus advertisers won't come onboard. Also they have included more things on the show which would have needed censorship on TV thus again making the whole effort of airing it on TV not being worth it. Later on they may air these episodes on star world

When did They air ?? They didn't air any single HBO Shows after 2019 i remember watching curb on 2019 and it was giving good trp back then

Star World Premiere HD likely to air Back2Back episodes of popular shows on December 12 2022 as per schedule updated on WhatsOnIndia. It can be some error too, lets wait for confirmation on this

No content strategy. Binge airing old shows so that they can prove to Disney executives that channel doesn't attract ratings to fast-track it's shutdown. Typical Star move.

At various earlier occasions we have had long discussions on this topic so won't repeat same thing again

All i will state is that Disney Star is trying to revive its English GEC channels & making changes to their content strategy. We should rather be happy and applaud them for reconsidering the earlier decision to shut down these channels.

It is definitely challenging to work out a financially viable business model for running niche channels hence let us give them some time to come up with a proper content strategy / plan & thereafter give our opinion on the same. Right now during test phase we will see random changes being made hence it would not be apt to come out with a conclusion based on it.

Already we have seen Disney Star making lot of changes across its different channels based on viewer feedback. Disney International HD shutdown was also cancelled & it is airing lot of good content daily with fresh shows getting added at regular basis. Even UTV HD has a revamped content strategy & airing so many popular hollywood films since last 7 or 8 months.

If anyone has feedback to share with them, make use of available communication channels to do the same. Not fool to not see through the bluff. Before shutdown of Channel V. A popular youth channel. It was airing niche movies on repeat. If Koffee with Karan is so popular. Why not air it on second GEC that requires constant revamp Star Bharat or flagship channel Star Plus?

I was not referring to Koffee With Karan but other shows which have been added to Star World schedule in last few months. Channel V was no doubt popular and its shows still have great following, erstwhile Star India decided to shut it down as investment going into making shows for the channel were too high compared to revenue the channel managed to garner via subscription or ads. Hence i have said financial viability is very important factor which broadcasters look upon while taking decisions about launching or shutting down channels.

There can b few channels generating losses which can b continued & compensated by profits being earned thru other highly popular channels but if there is heavy burden felt of finances or it restricts overall budgetary allotments for other popular channels of a broadcaster then decision is taken to shutdown certain channels.

I have already shared feedback with Disney Star to rebrand bindass as a youth channel and air of mix of music, movies, shows on it which will help attract larger audience base to it and make it financially viable to run it. Hoping this happens soon

Just to add to above point , @iDJ bro both Star World and Star World Premiere did air many fresh (old but not aired before) and new shows (new season of current running shows & latest shows) in last 4 or 5 years. I had even discussed regarding this earlier.

Just wait a little they may well be working on designing/framing a refreshed programming strategy for their English GEC channels.
