Here the interesting thing is that both 20th Century Studios and WB (Warner Bros ) movies went to Sony ( Hindi Versions ) so Warner Bros has a deal with both Star and Sony for Hindi dubbed Version of its movies . It will be interesting to see Justice League and Other DC movies will go to which channel .
Buddy, i guess u do not know few things about present satellite rights agreement various broadcasters have with different studios
Warner Bros has 2nd output deal with Sony and the dubbed movies which r being aired in may by sony max have been with them for a long period . Sony Pix used to air these with multi language option. Just that Sony has again made a mistake by not airing these on Sony Max or Wah earlier. Now after seeing star/disney getting success in this segment, they r following their strategy.
Regarding Kung Fu Panda 3 coming on Sony Max, it is bcoz zee has had long running 2nd output deal with 20th century fox (now known as 20th century studios) and marvel/disney thus And Flix has been airing these films since so many years. Now due to sony-zee merger integration of film library has happened hence Sony has got access to zee's Sony Pictures / Columbia films library as well as 20th century studio and disney/marvel library
Most likely in near future star/disney will get access to Warner Bros library, let us see if they sign a 1st output deal or 2nd output deal for both original and dubbed version. Recently Godzilla Vs Kong both original and dubbed version is being aired on star/disney so seems like they have a struck 1st output agreement and older films might also shift soon. Also it could well b that Warner Bros will have multiple broadcasters (Times Network, Star/disney) onboard for 1st output deal of original/English version while star/disney will b exclusive partner for 1st output deal for dubbed versions and sony will continue 2nd output deal for both versions. Saying so as i do not think Times Network agreement with Warner Bros will end right now. Same strategy might b followed by Paramount Pictures or maybe Times Network will b exclusive 1st output deal partner for original version and star/disney will have 1st output agreement with paramount for dubbed version while 2nd output deal for original/English version.
Sony Pictures /Columbia films again likely to shift to star/disney soon. Atleast I m quite sure about star/disney signing 1st or 2nd output deal for both original and dubbed version.
Lionsgate too seems have agreement with both star/disney and times network.
MGM films may soon shift to Sony Pix.
I think this shared agreement strategy might b be beneficial for both broadcasters and studio as each broadcaster will get fewer movies thus reducing investment while studio will get more options to sell films
