Telugu: 4+3+1=8
Hindi: 7+7+3=17 (also SS 1 Hindi HD)
English: 7+11+2=20

Tamil: 3+1+1=5
Kannada and Malayalam each: 3+0+0=3 (Zee Kannada HD launch in March)
Marathi and Bangla each: 3+1+0=4

Keeping aside market, there is good (tough) competition among Telugu channels between sun, ETV, zee and star group. If one starts HD channels all others have to start to be competitive.
We see top place among Telugu channels on BARC ratings changing always, so to be in race they need to do something and compete.

I think Zee kannada HD also to be launch at an event by sandalwood stars in jan
