Zee TV is No. 1; Star Plus slips to No. 2
Zee TV, the No. 2 channel in the previous week, has added 22 GRPs (of which a large contribution comes from the weekend prime time slot) to its kitty to end Week 4 with 237 points. Star Plus, meanwhile, is at No. 2 and has seen a 13 point drop over the previous week to pocket 228 GRPs.
The 2013 edition of the Zee Cine Awards has surely brought in some good news for the channel for the week ended January 26. Riding on the back of the awards event that was aired on January 20, the Hindi GEC has moved up the ladder to become the No. 1 channel in Week 4. The four-hour award show generated 3.91 TVRs and was one of the most viewed properties of the week.
Consequently, Zee TV, the No. 2 channel in the previous week, has added 22 GRPs (of which a large contribution comes from the weekend prime time slot) to its kitty to end Week 4 with 237 points. Star Plus, meanwhile, is at No. 2 and has seen a 13 point drop over the previous week to pocket 228 GRPs.
According to TAM data provided by one of the subscribers,Colors has witnessed a dip in its GRPs, standing at No.3. The channel has garnered 204 points during the given week, down from the 210 points that it had earned in the previous week.
Interestingly, Colors is just one point ahead of Sony, which stands at No. 4 with 203 GRPs. In the previous week, the channel was at 187 GRPs. It's the premiere of the movie, 'Student Of The Year' on January 26 that largely contributed to the channel's GRPs. The movie garnered as much as 4.2 TVR for the channel.
Sony Entertainment's sibling channel SAB TV continues to occupy the fifth spot with 151 points (146 GRPs in the previous week).
At No. 6 is Life OK, the second GEC from the STAR stable, which has garnered 120 GRPs, a loss of 8 points over Week 3. This is followed by Sahara One at No. 7, which has seen a one point dip in its GRPs with 24 points in its kitty.
Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashma (SAB TV) leads the list of the most-watched programmes clocking a TVR of 4.88 (TAM, C&S 4+, HSM), followed by Yeh Rishta Kya Kehlata Hai (Star Plus) and Balika Vadhu (Colors) with TVRs of 4.70 and 4.65 respectively.
Diya Aur Baati Hum (Star Plus) is at the fourth spot with 4.32 TVR, while Sapne Suhane Ladakpan Ke, a Zee TV property, follows with 4.26 TVR.
The sixth most-watched content is the movie Student Of The Year (Sony) with 4.18 TVR, followed by Madhubala Ek Ishq Ek Junoon on Colors (4.14 TVR) and the combined maha episode of Qubool Hai and Punarvivah on Zee TV (3.92 TVR).
Saathiya Saath Nibhana (Star Plus, 3.83 TVR) and Pavitra Rishta (Zee TV, 3.80 TVR) are also a part of the most viewed programmes of the week.
