Sony looks like ATM for Zee, they will spend money for their own Essel Group family purpose. This merger nothing benefits for Sony itself, on Entertainment, Sports and OTT.

Viacom18/Reliance too tried talks with both Sony and Zee, but negotiations failed. Without merger Still Viacom 18 giving tough competition for Big broadcasters like Disney, Sony, Zee.

Sony didn't pay anything till now. If this deal is broken, then zee has to pay 10000 crore to star for icc rights on its own. Most probably zee will back out & star has to bear the losses. Already Disney is facing loses with big releases in box office.
