I would like to share a quick update on the proposed merger process. As you would recall the definitive agreements were inked between the two companies that is Zee Entertainment Enterprises Limited and Sony Pictures Networks India on 22nd December, 2021. The teams have been working independently and are progressing steadily towards seeking the necessary approvals as mandated by law. We have filed a scheme of arrangements between the two entities along with the key document with Bombay stock exchange and national stock exchange in January 2022. We are currently awaiting approval from the stock exchanges. In addition, we also made a pre-filing with the Competition Commission of India in February, 2022. Basis the guidance received on our pre-filing we have made a formal filing with the CCI for the proposed merger in April 2022. In line with prescribed process for the scheme of arrangements, we expect to submit the application to NCLT after receiving the necessary approvals from the stock exchanges. Following which NCLT will call for the shareholder meeting to approve the scheme in due course.

Some & channels may be killed off, such as &TV, but definitely not &pictures as it is highly successful as Zee’s secondary Hindi movie channel. Among Marathi channels, Zee Yuva should have been killed in March but Zee Vajwa was shut down instead. Sony Aath is likely to continue as even though it’s not a main Bengali GEC per se, its animation and other shows do have a dedicated audience. Sony Marathi will remain on air for sure, because of Kon Honaar Superstar, Kon Honaar Crorepati, Maharashtrachi Hasya Jatra and other non-fiction shows, in addition to serials.

Yes as you can see sony sab is not telecasting any new comedy serials in future they want to bring any sequels to those hit comedy serials like JCPH, FIR, Chidiya Ghar etc they can telecast them on &TV and make it a complete Comedy oriented gec channel.
