MUMBAI: In its second month since launch, Zindagi is set to launch two new love stories from across the border.
Aiming to deliver on its promise of two new shows every month, the channel will launch ‘Mere Qatil Mere Dildaar’ and ‘Kahi Unkahi’ in August, to give Indian viewers a flavour and understanding of the culture and entertainment of Pakistan.
The creative association of writers, directors and actors from the other side of the border showcased TV shows like ‘Zindagi Gulzar Hai’, ‘Aunn Zara’, ‘Noorpur Ki Rani’ and ‘Maat’.
As part of its new programming line-up, the channel will launch ‘Mere Qatil Mere Dildaar’ on 5 August and ‘Kahi Unkahi’ on 13 August. These shows will present entertainment, drama and twists in its storylines.
Zindagi business head Priyanka Datta said, “We thank audiences for their phenomenal response to all the shows aired so far on Zindagi. We are happy to announce new shows ‘Mere Qatil Mere Dildaar’ and ‘Kahi Unkahi’ that capture every emotion, from love, hate, joy to sadness. We are confident that both these shows will also strike a chord with the viewers in the same way as ‘Zindagi Gulzar Hai’, ‘Aunn Zara’, ‘Maat’ and ‘Noorpur Ki Rani’.”
‘Mere Qatil…’ will air every day at 8:55 pm replacing ‘Noorpur ki Rani’, and will showcase the story of loving, losing and yet living. It revolves around a young couple Maham and Umer, who fall in love and get married against all odds. But things take a bad turn for Maham after marriage as she finds herself entangled in a web of conspiracies at the hands of her in-laws.
Meanwhile, ‘Kahi Unkahi’ will air in the 8 pm band every day, and is the love story of Zoya and Sherry. The romantic drama is woven around class differences, and tells how rich and suave Sherry falls in love with his poor driver’s beautiful and able daughter Zoya. With his father opposed to his love, Sherry is caught between the wishes of the father and the desires of the heart.
